The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (AYPE) was a world’s fair held in Seattle to promote the region’s growth and prosperity from the 1897 Klondike Gold Rush, and the city’s role as a major port city on the Pacific Coast. Located on the campus of the University of Washington, the fair was open from June 1 to October 16, 1909.
